Will Unemployment Increase with Lockdown being Imposed in Bangladesh?

Unemployment is a serious problem in many countries. The countries that are experiencing the problem have been taking serious steps to curb it. However, the effects shown by these steps have reduced since the lockdown has been announced. Reasons behind Increasing Unemployment Amidst Coronavirus

In countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, UAE, Bangladesh, some level of unemployment already existed. Before seeing the coronavirus situation, jobless individuals and a shortage of jobs were present in these countries. As the global crisis emerged, many companies were unable to financially support the complete workforce. As the workforce was reduced, there was an increase in the number of jobless people.

RR Holdings Limited explains that during the pandemic, many students have completed their education. Despite completing it, they have been unable to seek jobs. The dynamic organization further suggests that there are different types of jobs. Every job may not support a person to remotely work. Since the lockdown restricts the people to physically visit places and offices as well, seeking jobs becomes an even bigger challenge. 

Considering all of this, it may be said that problems like unemployment can increase. Also, if the pandemic does not come to an end in these countries, managing the livelihoods will be tough for the unemployed people living in these countries. This may create an unlikely situation for several economies as well. 

Supporting measures like lockdown is vital even when it has been imposed with many restrictions. However, the support of the general public is also needed for curbing the pandemic. This can eventually help in reducing unemployment.

To Sum up

Lockdown should be seen as useful for reducing the growing number of coronavirus cases. However, it has led to an increase in unemployment in many ways but Bangladesh are still doing fine. By completely focusing on curbing the pandemic, the need for lockdown may not arise. Hence, unemployment may be stopped from increasing further.
